POP is Hiring a Remote Creative Director

We are looking for a Creative Director (CD) who is an experienced and dynamic agency leader with the ability to bring fresh perspectives and insights to brands. They are responsible for setting a strong conceptual and strategic vision for our work as well as overseeing the entire creative process, ensuring all creative outputs meet or exceed Client expectations while solving their business needs and challenges. 
The CD is a problem solver at heart. They push. They challenge. They inspire and have an insatiable desire to think beyond the task at hand. They are hands-on and don’t shy away from getting into the weeds of the work. Securing new opportunities for the agency, from both existing and new clients, is paramount to this role. 
They are masters of motivation and know how to get project teams to reach new heights. The CD has exceptional creative skills, are champions and advocates for the creative spirit, and are remarkable presenters of our agency’s culture and ideas inside and outside the walls of POP.
What You’ll Do 
  • Define, direct, and execute concepts and user experience strategy to meet Client business needs and expectations
  • Own and manage iterative workflows cross-functionally and provide clear direction to the team
  • Own all creative outputs for your account(s). Be the keeper of excellence, quality, and expectations
  • Lead creative growth opportunities for both existing and prospective Clients by proactively presenting ideas and playing a key role in pitching and securing new business
  • Lead and facilitate creative brainstorm sessions and ideation
  • Partner with strategy to lead and develop unified briefs
  • Manage Client relationships at a strategic creative level, including leading Client presentations and making influential cases to advocate for the brand and our work
  • Collaborate with PM team to ensure creative scope aligns with schedule, budget, and skillset
  • Elevate and inspire creativity across the agency
  • Partner with technology to infuse innovation into our creative strategies
  • Champion and cultivate a collaborative mindset and approach across teams and with Clients
  • Conduct weekly 1:1s and annual performance evaluations for direct reports
  • On-going travel across the US to support in-person Client meetings, onsite project needs (video shoots) and Pitches is essential and expected
  • In partnership with Resourcing assign and distribute work to direct reports and determine appropriate staffing needs and gaps
  • Develop and maintain a talent pool of freelancers or external resources to help supplement in-house capabilities and skill gaps
What We’re Looking For
  • Minimum seven years as a professional creative with at least four years of experience directing creative staff
  • Experience in a creative agency or digital marketing including web, mobile, social, production, and emerging platforms
  • Proven ability to maintain strong relationships with cross-functional project teams and Clients
  • Strong client savviness and ability to grow Client relationships with outstanding presentation and pitching skills
  • Demonstrated, hands-on experience leading exceptional digital brand experiences
  • Deep understanding of digital design, UX/UI principles, marketing trend and best practices
  • Excellent ability to balance creative vision with strategic objectives
  • Excellent ability to direct and inspire all creative disciplines (copy, design, ux)
  • Excellent understanding of how agencies work and ability to thoughtfully scope and estimate work
  • Ability to develop and maintain Client relationships at the highest level within the Clients’ organization
  • Ability to confidently persuade hesitant Clients to consider elevating and expanding scopes of work
  • Excellent ability to concept big ideas and transform them into actionable executions
  • Excellent management skills of internal and external teams (vendors)
  • Ability to successfully navigate multiple, and sometimes competing, priorities and stakeholders
  • Excellent ability to provide constructive, action-oriented feedback to ensure the growth and success of direct reports
  • A strong portfolio showcasing a wide range of digital projects
  • An advocate for diversity and inclusion
  • A leader for inclusive creative across all fields
  • Copywriting experience is a nice to have and welcomed skill set
What’s In It for You
POP offers competitive compensation and full benefits. The starting salary for this role is between $150,000 and $175,000. Our salary ranges are based on paying competitively for our size and industry and are one part of the Total Rewards we provide. Individual pay rate decisions are based on a number of factors, including qualifications for the role, experience level, skillset, and balancing internal equity relative to peers at the company. The range above is for the expectations as laid out in the job description and located in Seattle. As a company, we have a location-based strategy, which means the salary range could be lower or higher than this if the role is hired in another location.
